HONOR X9e Pro launched in the UAE with 6.8-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, IP69K ratings, 11000mAh battery

HONOR has launched its first “Pro” variant in its durability-focused X Series, the HONOR X9e Pro for the Global Market; pre-orders have started. The smartphone was previously unveiled in China as the HONOR X80 Pro Max earlier this year.

To mark the launch, HONOR illuminated Dubai’s Burj Khalifa with a showcase highlighting the device’s key specifications. The event marked the brand’s first appearance on the iconic tower since August 2021.

The HONOR X9e Pro focuses on five key areas: battery endurance, structural durability, display performance, camera capabilities, and integrated AI features.

Battery and Power Management

The HONOR X9e Pro packs an 11,000mAh battery based on fourth-generation silicon-carbon technology. According to HONOR, the battery can deliver up to three days of use under mixed usage conditions and is designed to operate in ambient temperatures of up to 50°C.

For charging, the device supports 80W wired HONOR SuperCharge and 27W wired reverse charging, allowing users to power compatible external accessories. HONOR has also designed the battery system to maintain its performance for up to six years.

Durability and Environmental Protection

Continuing the X Series’ emphasis on ruggedness, the X9e Pro features a 360-degree shock-absorbing structure. It has received SGS Premium Performance 5-Star Drop Resistance Certification, with protection against drops from heights of up to 3 meters from various angles.

The smartphone also carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for resistance to water and dust. Under controlled testing conditions, its body demonstrated resistance to submersion at depths of up to 10 meters, along with protection against high-pressure hot-water jets reaching temperatures of 85°C.

Display Specifications

The HONOR X9e Pro features a 6.8-inch 1.5K display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The panel offers a claimed peak brightness of 10,000 nits for improved visibility outdoors, while a hardware-level 1-nit ultra-dark mode reduces brightness for comfortable viewing in low-light environments.

The display incorporates HONOR’s Oasis eye-comfort technologies and touch algorithms designed to maintain responsiveness when the screen is operated with wet fingers or while wearing gloves.

Camera and Artificial Intelligence Features

For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 108MP primary camera featuring CIPA 6.0-level image stabilization. The system combines optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) to help reduce blur caused by movement. It also includes dedicated underwater photography modes with automatic color-correction algorithms.

On the software side, the HONOR X9e Pro offers several AI-powered features designed to improve usability and content creation.

• AI FreeGrip: AI-based grip recognition and adaptive hand-detection algorithms adjust interface accessibility to support one-handed use for both left- and right-handed users.
• Google Gemini Integration: Google's AI assistant enables voice- and prompt-based interactions for productivity and everyday tasks.
• Creative Editor 2.0: The built-in editing suite includes an AI Image-to-Video feature that transforms static photographs into short animated clips.
