Rockstar Confirms Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Delayed to May 2026

Rockstar Games has officially announced a new release date for Grand Theft Auto VI, now set for May 26, 2026. This update pushes the launch beyond the previously expected Fall 2025 window. The game's first trailer was unveiled back in December 2023.

In a statement addressing the delay, the company said:

“We sincerely apologize for the later than expected release. Our entire team has deeply appreciated the overwhelming interest and excitement around the next Grand Theft Auto. We’re grateful for your continued support and patience as we work to complete the game.

This announcement finally provides a firm launch date for one of the industry’s most anticipated games. According to Rockstar, the delay is intended to ensure the final product meets their high development standards. Additional information may be revealed during parent company Take-Two’s upcoming financial report on May 15.
