Google TV Streamer 4K launched with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Voice Remote, Gemini AI
Google has launched the Google TV Streamer 4K ahead of the Made by Google event later this month, after rumours. This new device is a faster, more "premium" version that replaces the Chromecast. The sleek Google TV Streamer also functions as a smart home hub for Google Home and Matter devices. Unlike previous models, it is designed to sit in front of your TV to enhance connectivity with smart home devices.
Running on Android TV OS, the Google TV Streamer provides access to over 700,000 movies and shows from apps like YouTube TV, Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV, along with 800+ free live TV channels. Google AI offers personalized content suggestions across all your subscriptions, while Gemini technology provides detailed summaries, reviews, and season breakdowns. You can also create individual watchlists for each family member.
The device features a processor that is 22% faster, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, ensuring smooth navigation and quick app switching. It supports 4K HDR with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for a cinematic experience. Connectivity options for the Google TV Streamer include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, and an Ethernet port. It is made with at least 65% recycled plastic for sustainability.
