Google Pixel Fold launched with 7.6-inch foldable and 5.8-inch cover 120Hz OLED displays, IPX8 water-resistant design
Google has launched its first foldable smartphone the Pixel Fold in the Global Market at the Google I/O, after several rumours. It has a 7.6-inch foldable screen and a small 5.8-inch outer screen with OLED panel on both screens and a 120Hz refresh rate, while the cover display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and the inner display has Ultra Thin Glass with a protective plastic layer.
The Pixel Fold uses a stainless steel hinge that is sturdy and can withstand wear and tear like scratches, all while keeping its shine, and supporting an IPX8 rating for water resistance. The Pixel Fold will get Dual Screen interpreter mode runs on a Google Tensor G2 processor that will let you simultaneously use the inner and outer screens to translate live conversations, and has up to 12GB RAM with up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage and based on Android 13.
When unfolding the phone can use the Taskbar to easily switch between apps or drag a compatible app into split-screen mode to multitask with two apps side-by-side. The folded phone uses as hands-free with a tabletop mode that is useful for apps like YouTube. The top half plays your video and, with an upcoming app update, it will also get playback controls on the bottom half.
It has a triple rear camera setup where a 48MP primary camera with OIS, and also use as a selfie camera since there is a screen on the front, along with a 10.8MP ultra-wide camera and a 10.8 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. It features Real Tone, Night Sight, and Portrait photography along with pro-level modes from Pixel 7 Pro, such as 10-bit HDR video.
