World's thinnest smartphone gets thinner with the Gionee Elife S5.1
Gionee has broken its own record of the world's thinnest smartphone with the launch of the new Elife S5.1 which is just 5.1mm thick. After the Elife S5.5 was garnered with the same award, the company has outdone itself and it seems this record is here to stay for some time.
The Gione S5.1 is a mid-range smartphone given the restrictions put on by such a thin profile. It comes with a 4.8-inch 720p AMOLED display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC running Android 4.3 based Amigo UI on top. There's 1 GB RAM and 16 GB non-expandable memory on board. Now the main attraction is even with this svelte body you get a 8 MP primary and 5 MP front camera alongwith a healthy 2100 mAh battery.
At present there is no word on pricing, but the Gionee Elife S5.1 will go on sale in China later this month giving us an estimate about the price of the smartphone.
