This is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with full-screen display, single rear camera
Xiaomi is all set to launch the 5th iteration of its popular Redmi Note series in November and here's our first look. The Redmi Note 5 is set to come with a full-screen 18:9 aspect ratio and a single rear camera. The fingerprint sensor is still on the back of the phone and it would still come with a unibody metal construction.
According to the TENNA listing, the Redmi Note 5 will come with a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with 2.5D curved glass on top running on the Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. On the back, there's a 12MP rear camera while you will get a 16MP selfie snapper. Xiaomi will retain the 4000 mAh battery here similar to previous generations.
There is a top-end variant expected as well, the Redmi Note 5 Pro/Plus which may feature dual rear cameras, a main 12MP camera augmented by a 5MP secondary camera.
In the listings, we see two colors of the Redmi Note 5, champagne gold and black, but we may see it in silver and rose gold color options as well. We will know more when the phone launches later in November.
Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi 5A in China, which features a similar design to the Redmi 4A launched last year but runs on Android Nougat out of the box. It still doesn't have a fingerprint sensor but does get an infrared sensor to control your television, set-top box and other home appliances.
