Facebook testing persistent notifications for your Android smartphone
Facebook is planning to take a permanent residence on your Android smartphone's notification drawer. The persistent notification will display your picture, link to your News Feed, Friend Requests, Messages and Notifications. The usability of this feature is really questionable with Facebook taking quite a bit of screen real-estate especially when you have other more important notifications to attend to.
Speaking to The Next Web, a Facebook rep said that the feature was being tested in a small circle and that you could disable it by tapping on the small "i" button on the right, which would take to the settings with the option. Hopefully, if this feature makes it to the release version would have the same option to disable it.
