Dell jumps onto Windows 8.1 tablet bandwagon with Venue 8 Pro running a quad-core Intel Atom processor
It seems Dell isn't yet through with announcements. The venerable PC maker added a Windows 8.1 tablet to its Venue line-up with the Venue 8 Pro. It features a 8-inch WXGA 1280 x 800 pixels 10 point capacitive multi-touch display running on a quad-core 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z3740D processor with 2GB RAM and 7th Gen Intel graphics. You can get the tablet in 32 GB or 62 GB storage variants which is expandable to another 64 GB using micro SD card slot.
The Venue 8 Pro comes with 3G/4G LTE mobile broadband chipsets built in, alongwith dual-band 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. There's a 4830 mAh 2-cell battery that keeps the tablet running. Although a larger battery pack adds to the weight which is why the Venue 8 Pro is a bit heavier at 395 grams but quite thin at just 9 mm. There's an integrated 5 megapixel primary camera and 1.2 megapixel secondary front-facing camera as well. The main feature of the tablet is that it runs full-fledged Windows 8.1 where you can run both Metro as well as all your legacy applications.
Although availability and price are yet to be announced, the Dell Venue 8 Pro will be available in black and red colors.
