The numbers are in, December stats say Android KitKat sits at 1.1% and Jelly Bean at 54.5%
Although Android 4.4 KitKat was just released and is only available on a handful of devices, the December Android Platform numbers say that the OS is currently running on 1.1% of Android devices. Android 4.1.x sits at 37.4% while Android 4.3 makes a jump from 2.3% last month to 4.2%. In total Android Jelly Bean is the flavor of the month with 54.5% total share in Android installs.
What these numbers mean is Jelly Bean has become the most popular Android OS, and seeing the unification of Android post 4.1.z its a great step by OEM's in the right direction. Android 4.4 KitKat will make its way to most flagships in Q1 2014, and push its current share higher.
