Chrome apps to arrive on Android and iOS
Google has been working on a tool to port Chrome apps to Android and iOS, and now they have released a developer preview. It is based on Apache Cordova, making use of HTML 5, CSS and JavaScript. Meaning you can easily wrap your Chrome app in a native skin and publish it on the respective app stores.
Some Chrome API's are also in the works which include payments, authorization, notifications as well as alarms in addition to what is already available on the Cordova platform. It won't be long before Chrome apps begin to surface which run on both PC's and phones alike, but what remains to be seen is the performance and can these compete with native apps.
