BlackBerry DTEK60 launched with Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM running Android Marshmallow

    BlackBerry has finally announced the oft-leaked DTEK60 smartphone running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with a secure bootloader for multi-stage verification to ensure that the phone hasn't been tampered with. Among other security enhancements, all data on the phone is protected with FIPS encryption.

    To further increase security on the device, there's a rear fingerprint sensor too. BlackBerry has also added a password keeper app on the phone to keep all your passwords secure and with the DTEK app you can check if there are any privacy violations on your phone.

    On the hardware front, the DTEK60 packs a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display running on the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor with 4GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage which is expandable with a microSD card. On the camera front, there's a 21MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording along with an 8MP front camera for selfies.

    All this runs on a 3000 mAh battery which supports fast charging over the USB Type-C port.

    The DTEK60 has been priced at $499 (Rs. 33,400) / € 579 / £475 / CA$ $650 and is now available from BlackBerry online. It's live in the US, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, availability in other regions will be announced soon.
