Asus Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Ultra announced at Computex 2016
Alongwith the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Asus also announced the Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Ultra smartphones at Computex 2016.
Zenfone 3
The Zenfone 3 has a metal frame with a Gorilla Glass front and back. It comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display with 500 nits brightness and 2.5D curved glass at top running on the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor.
There's 3GB/4GB RAM onboard with 32GB/64GB storage on the Zenfone 3 respectively. It also runs on the new ZEN UI 3.0 based on Android Marshmallow.
Asus has decided to go with a hybrid dual-SIM option on the Zenfone 3 which may irk some users back home. But you do get an improved 16MP rear camera here with laser-AF, dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. The fingerprint sensor has been placed on the back just below the camera module.
There is support for 4G LTE on both SIM slots with VoLTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB Type-C port with support for Quick Charging.
Zenfone 3 Ultra
The Zenfone 3 Ultra comes with a massive 6.8-inch display with a full-metal unibody construction and no visible antenna lines. It runs on the Snapdragon 652 SoC with 4GB RAM and a massive 4600 mAh battery.
There's a 23MP rear camera here with Optical Image Stabilization and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies.
Pricing and Availability
The Zenfone 3 will start at $249 (about Rs. 17000) for the 3GB RAM, 64GB storage variant and will come in Shimmering Gold, Aqua Blue, Sapphire Black and Moonlight White colors. There is no word on availability in India at present.
Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra would come in grey, silver and gold colors starting at $479 (about Rs. 32000) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant.
