Apple has launched its new Mac Studio with M2 Max and new M2 Ultra chip in India at the WWDC 2023, which is an upgrade version of last year’s M1 Ultra model. The Mac Studio gives up to 6x faster than the most powerful Intel-based 27-inch iMac, and up to 3x faster than the previous-generation Mac Studio with M1 Ultra Chip, according to the company.

Apple introduced a new M2 Ultra chip that features a 24-core CPU that includes 16 next-generation high-performance cores and 8 next-generation high-efficiency cores making it 20% faster than the M1 Ultra and a 30% faster GPU that can be configured with 60 or 76-cores, and a 32-core Neural Engine, delivering 31.6 trillion operations per second that’s up to 40% faster.

The M2 Ultra chip also features a media engine with twice the capabilities of the M2 Max. It has dedicated, hardware-enabled H.264, HEVC, and ProRes encode and decode, allowing M2 Ultra to play back up to 22 streams of 8K ProRes 422 video.

Mac Studio with M2 Max features a 12-core CPU, up to a 38-core GPU, and up to 96GB of unified memory with 400GB/s of memory bandwidth is up to 50% faster than the previous-generation Mac Studio and 4x faster than the most powerful Intel-based 27-inch iMac, as per Apple.

The Mac Studio with M2 Ultra features a 24-core CPU, up to a 76-core GPU, and up to 192GB of memory with 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth promises 2x the performance and capabilities of M2 Max, and up to 3x faster than the previous-generation Mac Studio with M1 Ultra, as per the Apple.

Apple Mac Studio M2 Ultra back

The new Mac Studio has higher-bandwidth HDMI, enabling up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rates with an M2 Ultra chip, and Mac Studio supports up to six Pro Display XDRs. Now, it supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

Mac Studio has 4 Thunderbolt-4 ports, a 10Gb Ethernet port, an enhanced HDMI port, and two USB Type-A ports. It also conveniently has 2 USB Type-C ports and an SD card slot on the front to easily transfer photos and videos.

The Mac Studio will be available from June 13 in India in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers, and pre-orders started today on apple.com/in/store.
