Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus launched, Starting at Rs.79,900 in India with 6.1 / 6.7-inch Display, Dynamic Island, USB-C Port
Apple has launched its latest iPhone in the 15 series the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus with the Dynamic Island in the Global Market including India, the successor of the iPhone 14 series. It's worth noting that these devices continue to utilize the A16 Bionic processor found in the iPhone 14 Pro series.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are equipped with OLED Super Retina XDR displays, measuring 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. These displays can achieve peak brightness levels of up to 2000 nits and maintain a 60Hz refresh rate. They also maintain the Ceramic Shield protection that was originally introduced in the iPhone 12. Notably, these models now include the Dynamic Island feature previously introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro series.
The phones are equipped with a novel 48MP primary camera featuring a quad-pixel sensor that combines every four pixels into a larger quad pixel, resulting in a 2.44 µm equivalent at 12MP and incorporating sensor-shift optical image stabilization. This quad-pixel sensor also offers a 2x Telephoto option, utilizing the central 12 megapixels of the sensor for capturing full-resolution photos and 4K videos without resorting to digital zoom. Additionally, there is a 12MP Ultra Wide camera.
A new auto portrait mode has been introduced, eliminating the need to switch to portrait mode. It allows for adjusting the focus between different subjects after taking a photo. Furthermore, the iPhone 15 lineup includes Emergency SOS via satellite, which is offered free of charge for a duration of two years.
Apple has introduced a groundbreaking feature in smartphones: the incorporation of color throughout the rear glass. This glass is reinforced using an improved dual-ion exchange method, followed by a polishing process with nanocrystalline particles and etching, resulting in an opulent and textured matte finish.
Additionally, there's a newly contoured edge on the aerospace-grade aluminum frame, enhancing the tactile feel when held. The Ceramic Shield front cover remains exceptionally durable, surpassing the resilience of any other smartphone glass. Lastly, in a notable change, the iPhone 15 series now adopts a USB-C port, replacing the previous lightning port. However, it still retains its MagSafe wireless charging capability.

The iPhone 15 and 15 Pro come in Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Black colors, and the iPhone 15 series will be available from Friday, September 22 on apple.com/store and in the Apple Store app, with availability in stores. Pre-orders start on September 15th at 5:30 PM IST.
