Android 7.0 Nougat coming to Android One smartphones, but not officially
Google has confirmed that it won't be releasing Android 7.0 Nougat builds for the first-gen Android One smartphones from Micromax, Karbonn or Spice. But that won't make the developer community sit silent, would it?
An India based developer, Varun Chitre has posted screenshots of his Micromax Canvas A1 AQ4501 Android One (sprout) smartphone running Android 7.0 Nougat. He has been working on the ROM for some time and shared screenshots on his facebook timeline. But later XDA-Developers member joeyhuab posted the images to the public revealing that a build was in the works.
Looking at the screenshots you can atleast see that the build is legit. But some of the vital components like camera, media playback and mobile data don't seem to be working though. That's why the developer of the ROM hasn't mentioned when he is going release the build for Android One smartphones but we can expect it to come soon.
