Zaydo Pulse arrives with an ultra-slim profile running Snapdragon 810 with an even slimmer price-tag

Every few days we come across a new smartphone brand, some become giants like OnePlus and some fade into oblivion. Next in line is Zaydo, with its first offering, the Zaydo Pulse.

There is no sure way to succeed as a smartphone manufacturer in today's competitive world. You can either provide top-end hardware at cheaper prices and compete in the mid-range segment or go knee deep into the dirt of fighting it out in the entry level segment.

Zaydo has opted to go for the middle and the Pulse looks like one excellent competition. You have a 5.5-inch 1080p "Ultra Clear IPS" display here with Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and 4GB DDR4 RAM running the show. Sound familiar? The specs are quite similar to the OnePlus 2.

Next up, you have a 13MP rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, nothing revolutionary here but manageable along with a 5MP front-snapper. There's a 3100 mAh user-replaceable battery here all tucked in an impossibly thin 5.5mm shell. A metal frame with chamfered edges surrounds the body giving it a more premium appearance. The Zaydo Pulse weighs in at about 151 grams which is quite acceptable for a 5.5-inch smartphone. But it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat based DashOS which said to be lighter than Stock Android, with the company removing some of the Google "bloat" from the device. But it will be updated to Lollipop sometime soon as its high up on the company's to-do list.

Now let's come to what you all have been waiting for, the price tag. The Zaydo Pulse is being offered at just $319.99 (about Rs. 21,000) for the 32GB storage variant and $369.99 (about Rs. 24,500) with 64GB onboard storage. Zaydo is clearly aiming for the mid-range segment where the Samsung Galaxy A8, Moto X Play and the OnePlus 2 are being offered.

What Zaydo is offering is a more premium build in a thinner design with promise of update to Lollipop. Pre-orders have already begun and the Pulse ships October 20th. Orders will be shipped worldwide, but do take a note of the GSM and LTE bands the Pulse supports from the source link below.
