Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 launched with 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4100 mAh battery

Xiaomi has launched its upgraded Redmi Note 4 budget phablet at an event in China. The latest offering in the Redmi series comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display which is covered in 2.5D curved glass running on the deca-core Helio X20 processor from MediaTek.

There are two memory options, you can either get the 2GB RAM variant with 16GB storage of the 3GB RAM variant with a whopping 64GB storage which can be expanded with a microSD card.

You have a unibody metal construction with brushed metal finish and chamfered edges. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back similar to the Redmi Note 3. The loudspeaker this time around has been moved to the bottom of the phone and you get a USB Type-C port here for charging the massive 4100 mAh battery. There is an Infrared sensor here too to control home appliances.

The Redmi Note 4 is a dual-SIM 4G device with support for VoLTE and comes with a hybrid SIM card slot so that you can expand the internal storage by upto 128GB. Coming to cameras Xiaomi has packed a 13MP rear camera here with phase detection autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. The combination should yield some good results, then you also have a 5MP front-facing wide-angle lens camera for selfies.

Redmi Note 4 Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be available in gold, silver and gray color options starting at 899 Yuan ($135 or Rs. 9060) for the 2GB RAM, 16GB storage variant and 1199 yuan ($180 or Rs. 12080) for the 3GB RAM variant with 64GB storage. It is going on sale in China starting August 26 through Mi store and other online retailers.
