Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro launched with 11.2/12.5-inch 3.2K 144Hz display, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 / 8 Gen 5 SoC
Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship tablet in the Pad 9 Series, the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro in China at its Autumn New Product Launch Event, successors to the Xiaomi Pad 8 series. The new range covers two screen sizes and performance categories, along with dedicated Soft Light Edition models featuring anti-glare displays.
Display and Design
The Xiaomi Pad 9 comes with an 11.2-inch display, offering a relatively compact form factor suited to portability and entertainment. It is available in Ice Peach Pink, Spruce Green, Black, and Silver colour options.
Moving to a larger format, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro features a 12.5-inch display aimed at users who need additional screen space for productivity and multitasking. It is offered in Spruce Green, Black, and Silver.
Both models are also available in “Soft Light Edition” variants. These versions use matte, anti-reflective screen surfaces designed to minimise reflections and improve visibility when used under strong or direct lighting.
Hardware and Performance
The two tablets use different chipsets and battery configurations.
- The Xiaomi Pad 9 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform and packs a 9,720mAh battery.
- The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro steps up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform and comes with a larger 11,000mAh battery. Xiaomi claims the Pro model can deliver up to 14.5 hours of continuous short-video playback or as much as 20 hours of online meetings on a single charge.
