Vivo X500 launched with 6.59-inch 1.5K 144Hz OLED display, Dimensity 9600M SoC, IP69 ratings, 7500mAh battery
Vivo has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone in th X500 series, the vivo X500 in China at its latest product launch event, introducing the smartphone alongside a range of new smart devices.
Along with the regular retail variants, vivo has announced a special “Sunny Day” co-branded edition. This version features the dedicated “Sunny Day” color option and adds several software customizations, including a liquid UI theme, cinematic color profiles, and pre-installed background audio for the album.
Camera Hardware and Video Capabilities
The vivo X500 brings a redesigned camera system, with its primary sensor representing the largest sensor used on an X series smartphone so far.
- Primary Sensor: The main camera uses a 1/1.28-inch Blueprint × Sony LYTIA-828 sensor with Zeiss gimbal-level stabilization and CIPA 5.5 certification.
- Telephoto Sensor: The telephoto camera is based on the Sony LYTIA-610 sensor, the same hardware used by the X500 Pro APO telephoto unit. It also offers CIPA 5.5 stabilization, supports 4K video recording at 120fps for slow-motion footage, and works with the “Lipstick 200” teleconverter accessory.
- Live Media & Video: The X500 becomes the first commercial smartphone with native 8K Live functionality, developed in collaboration with platforms including Weibo for direct sharing. It also supports native 4K cinematic Live video with adjustable movie color grading styles.
Display, Battery, and Core Specifications
The smartphone features a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPS flat display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is offered in four standard finishes: Earth Echo, Sunny Day, Dawn, and Night.
Powering the device is the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9600M processor, accompanied by vivo’s proprietary Blueprint Imaging Chip V3+. The phone draws power from a 7,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging.
For protection and security, the vivo X500 carries dual IP68 and IP69 dust- and water-resistance ratings and features an under-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Software
The vivo X500 runs OriginOS 7 out of the box. The software introduces an updated liquid-inspired interface, elastic touchscreen unlock animations, and automatic effects for photo synchronization.
vivo says the operating system has been optimized to maintain consistent responsiveness for up to 72 months of standard usage.

The vivo X500 is available in three memory and storage configurations:
- 12GB RAM/256GB storage version - 5,499 yuan (USD 821 / Rs. 78,665 approx.)
- 12GB RAM/512GB storage version - 5,999 yuan (USD 895 / Rs. 85,820 approx.)
- 12GB RAM/1TB storage version - 6,999 yuan (USD 1044 / Rs. 1,00,125 approx.)
The smartphone is now available to order in China, with open sales scheduled to begin on September 24th.
