Vivo V70 and Vivo V70 Elite with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC launching in India soon
Vivo is gearing up for its latest smartphones in the V70 series, the V70 and V70 Elite in India, positioning the new lineup as a blend of design-first philosophy and flagship-grade engineering. By bringing together technologies from ZEISS, Sony, and Qualcomm, the V70 Series aims to seamlessly merge lifestyle-focused aesthetics with high-end performance.
Ergonomics and Design: “Golden Grip” -
Moving away from the bulky profiles typical of performance-centric smartphones, the V70 Series adopts a sleek flat-edge form factor.
- Form factor - Both models feature a 6.59-inch “Golden Grip” size, optimized for comfortable one-handed use while still offering a spacious display.
- Build quality - An aerospace-grade metal frame enhances durability, complemented by ultra-narrow 1.25mm side bezels that push the screen-to-body ratio higher.
The color lineup emphasizes individuality, with Passion Red available across the series, Lemon Yellow exclusive to the V70, and refined Sand Beige and Authentic Black finishes reserved for the V70 Elite.
Imaging: Sony Meets ZEISS -
According to vivo, the V70 Series represents a major upgrade to the V Series camera system. Both variants use premium Sony sensors, fine-tuned with ZEISS optical expertise.
- Telephoto - A 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto Camera (Sony IMX882) delivers 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, optimized for low-light scenarios such as evening events and indoor celebrations.
- Primary camera - The 50MP ZEISS OIS main sensor (Sony IMX766) features a 1.3cm sensor size, ensuring accurate colors and stable handheld shots.
- Video - Support for 4K video at 60fps with smooth switching between 1x, 2x, and 3x zoom levels.
- AI features - The camera experience is enhanced with an AI Photography Suite, including AI Magic Weather and the India-exclusive AI Holi Portrait, tailored for local festivities.
Performance and Software -
Beyond imaging, the V70 Elite is built for demanding workloads. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Additional highlights include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint authentication and OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, with a promise of four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
Battery and Durability -
The V70 Series carries forward a 6500mAh battery from the previous generation, supported by 90W fast charging. Both models are also expected to retain IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Expected Launch -
The vivo V70 and V70 Elite are tipped to debut in mid-February, with the official launch date expected to be announced soon.
