Vivo T5 launched in India starting at an effective price of Rs. 31,499 with 6.83-inch 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 7500 Turbo SoC, 7050mAh battery

Vivo has officially launched its latest smartphone in the performance-focused Series-T, the vivo T5 5G in India, following its earlier announcement. The new handset combines a focus on performance, on-device AI capabilities, long battery life, and a high-quality display, all packed into a slim and lightweight design.

Hardware, Performance, and Thermal Management

The vivo T5 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset, manufactured using a 4nm process. The octa-core processor features a Krake GPU and an 8th-generation GenAI-ready NPU for handling AI workloads directly on the device. vivo says the NPU can run a 3-billion-parameter large language model at around 10 tokens per second, reducing the need for cloud-based processing.

According to vivo's internal testing, the smartphone achieves an AnTuTu score of more than 1.2 million. Sustained performance is supported by a dedicated thermal management system comprising:

  • 3,800mm² vapor chamber cooling
  • 23,062mm² total heat dissipation area
  • 10 built-in temperature sensors for real-time thermal monitoring

Display, Audio, and Design

The vivo T5 features a 6.83-inch (17.35cm) 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel offers a 93.82% screen-to-body ratio, 449 PPI pixel density, and up to 2,000 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode (HBM).

The display supports HDR10+ and has received SGS certifications for low blue light, low flicker, and sunlight readability. vivo has also included Eye Protection Mode, Sleep Comfort Mode, and Anti-Fatigue Brightness Adjustment to improve viewing comfort.

For audio, the smartphone features symmetrical dual stereo speakers enhanced by vivo's VEQ algorithm, which is designed to improve bass output at lower volume levels.

The device measures just 7.99mm in thickness and weighs 199 grams. Its design features a narrow-frame edge construction and an aluminum horizontal camera module. The vivo T5 is available in Royal Bronze and Silver Green, with the latter using an Aurora Liquid Crystal process that produces shifting color reflections.

Camera System

The vivo T5 comes with a multi-camera setup comprising:

  • 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with 4-axis OIS and Sony Aura Light
  • 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 115° field of view
  • 32MP front camera with an 84° field of view

Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording, with stabilization combining OIS and EIS. Other imaging features include 1x, 1.5x, and 2x multifocal portrait modes, Bokeh Flare effects, and AI Erase 2.0 for removing unwanted objects from photos.

Battery and Charging

Powering the vivo T5 is a large 7,050mAh battery designed to retain at least 80% of its effective capacity after up to 1,600 charge-discharge cycles.

The battery supports 44W FlashCharge, which vivo claims can charge the phone from 0% to 44% in approximately 30 minutes.

Additional power-management features include:

  • Battery Life Extender: Maintains essential connectivity when the battery reaches critical levels.
  • Global Bypass Charging: Supplies power directly to the system components when the battery level is above 20%, helping reduce heat generation during intensive use.

Software and Durability

The vivo T5 runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6. The company has committed to three major Android version upgrades and five years of security updates.

The software includes features such as vivo Office Kit for PC mirroring across devices, Circle to Search 2.0, AI Transcript Assist, and private workspace partitions.

For durability, the smartphone has IP68 and IP69 ratings for protection against water and dust, including high-pressure water exposure and submersion. It also meets MIL-STD-810H durability standards and supports wet-hand touch tracking for better usability when the screen or user's hands are wet.
