Video: The Iris Scanner on the Galaxy Note 7 seems to be very fast

There have been many rumors surrounding the Galaxy Note 7, but an Iris Scanner in the front has been most persistent. Now, there's a video showing how the Iris Scanner works on the Galaxy Note 7.

Most analysts have been skeptical about an Iris Scanner on a consumer device, but given the ease with which the phone in unlocked in this video, opinions are bound to change. There's one more thing to note here, the alleged Note 7 has a flat front here which does add a bit of credibility to rumors that there are two variants of the phone in the works, one with a dual-edge curved display and another flat or it may just be a prototype.

But the two step process of waking up your device and then unlocking it seems less intuitive than the current fingerprint unlock security in use on most smartphones. Given the rate at which we are seeing leaks about the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung would have very little new to show at the launch event on August 2nd.
