Sony Xperia Z4 goes official with 5.2-inch 1080p display, octa-core Snapdragon 810

In an event in Japan, Sony today unveiled its flagship Xperia Z4. It comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p Triluminous display powered by the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 running Android 5.0 Lollipop. There's 3 gigs of RAM onboard with 32 GB expandable storage. A 2390 mAh battery is also crammed into that 6.9mm thin shell which is both IPX5/IPX8 rated for dust and water resistance.

The build is all glass and metal just like previous Z series flagships. There's a 20.7 MP camera at the back which uses Sony's own Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing and supports 4K video recording. A 5.1 MP camera adorns the front which is capable of recording 1080p videos and interestingly also supports digital image stabilization.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, dual-band WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with GLONASS, MHL 3.0 and NFC. Sony has also bundled in its LDAC audio compression codec for better music experience through wireless or bluetooth speakers.

Sony didn't disclose anything about the price of the Xperia Z4 but said that it will be available in Black, White, Aqua Green and Copper colors.
