Sony Xperia E5 shows up in official press renders

Sony isn't yet done with its E series of entry-level smartphones. The new Xperia E5 showed up in official press renders on the company's own Facebook page but have since been taken down.

The Xperia E5 is shown in black and white colors and what seems to be a metal frame. There is talk of NFC support as well, and on a listing over at GFXBench, the Xperia E5 F3311 showed up running on a MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor with 4.6-inch HD display, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage which would be expandable, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

It is expected to come in a dual-SIM 4G LTE avatar as well with Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and NFC. It has a 13MP rear and 5MP front camera for selfies.

There is no word on pricing or availability yet, but given that the official page posted the information, the launch of the Xperia E5 is expected soon.
