Sony Xperia 5 IV launched with 6.1-inch FHD+ 120Hz HDR OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, Tripe 12MP Camera, IP68
Sony has launched its top-end 5G smartphone the Xperia 5 IV (Pronounced Mark 4) in the USA at an online event. It has a 6.1-inch 21:9 CinemaWide FHD+ HDR display with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch scanning rate, 50% brighter than the predecessor, and has a Side-mounted Fingerprint sensor. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with 8GB of RAM, and 128GB storage, and is based on Android 12.
It has a triple rear camera setup where the same 12-megapixel primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, OIS along with 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 12-megapixel 2.5x telephoto lens with OIS. All three lens supports 4K HDR 120fps video recording, Eye AF, and Object Tracking. It offers seamless zoom, so you can also adjust the focal length while recording video without any image degradation or blackouts as you transition from one lens to the next, as per the company. There is a new 12MP front-facing camera that supports 4K HDR video selfies.
The phone feature Full-Stage stereo speakers, Sony’s own 360 Reality Audio, and also has Dolby Atmos sound tuned in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment. It has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the both front and the frosted glass back. It is powered by a massive 5000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging and Qi wireless charging, but it doesn’t come with a charger or cable in the box.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV comes in Ecru White, Black, and Green colors and the price is $999.99 (Rs. 79,470 approx.) for 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version and is available for pre-order in the US starting today, with shipments commencing in October. It will also be available in Europe mid of September at €1,049 (US$ 1051 / Rs. 83,575 approx.).
