Sony Xperia 1 V will be launched on May 11 Globally with 6.5-inch flat 4K OLED 120Hz HDR display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC
Sony has confirmed the launch event for its upcoming Xperia product on May 11th, expected to launch the new Xperia 1 V flagship smartphone. Sony already confirmed that it will launch new Xperia smartphones that run on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in 2023, so we can expect the chip in the flagship.
The company also released a teaser that shows the phone will feature Next-gen Sensor and Next-gen Imaging. We can also expect the company to launch the Xperia 10 V alongside, like the last time.
According to renders that surfaced earlier this year, it will maintain its signature features, including a headphone jack, and camera shutter button, and it will also have a side-fingerprint reader integrated into the power button. The company could offer 16GB of RAM compared to 12GB in the predecessor.
The camera flash has been integrated into the camera bump for a sleeker look. Additionally, the camera bump is expected to be more pronounced, with a sloped rim that will match the color of the device. We can expect a 6.5-inch flat 4K OLED 120Hz HDR display, and 3C certification recently revealed 33W fast charging support.
The Sony Xperia launch event will be held on May 11th starting at 1 PM JST (9:30 AM IST), and it will go live-streaming on the official Youtube channel as usual. We should know more details and the complete specifications of the phone when it goes officially launched in a couple of weeks.
