Samsung launches Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier Tizen smartwatches in India, priced at Rs. 28500

Samsung has just launched its new Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier smartwatches in India. Launched back at IFA 2016, both feature IP68 rated stainless steel design which can even withstand a few bumps along the way with its MIL-STD 810G rating.

In the front, there's a 1.3-inch circular Super AMOLED display which remains always-on in full-color mode. It also features Corning's new Gorilla Glass SR+ protection for resistance against scratches. Then there are the rotating bezels on the watches as well, which help you navigate the interface far faster than with swipes and taps.

The uber smartwatches also have a built-in speaker for listening to music, and you can activate voice-messaging too. Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth, and WiFi while the Gear S3 Frontier also gets LTE support along with a more rugged design for those who prefer sportier smartwatches.

Coming to hardware specs, both run on a 1GHz dual-core processor with 768MB RAM and 4GB internal memory running Tizen's wearable platform version 2.3.2. It is compatible with both Android smartphones and the iPhone. Apart from NFC, you also have a heart-rate sensor, ambient light sensor to control brightness, an accelerometer as well as a gyroscope.

The Gear S3 is powered by a 380mAh battery with wireless charging built-in which the company says will last about 3 to 5 days. That's a claim we will have to test out, do stay tuned to PhoneBunch as we bring you the review of the Gear S3 in the coming weeks.

The Samsung Gear S3 Classic has been priced at Rs. 28500 while the Gear Frontier will be available for Rs. 29500 starting January 18th.
