Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic launched in India starting at Rs. 24300
Samsung launched both the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic in India today. The Tizen powered smartwatches have a unique rotating bezel which makes for a very intuitive user experience.
Both the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic smartwatches were announced at IFA last year running Samsung's own Tizen platform. The Gear S2 Classic sports a more traditional watch design with leather straps while the Gear S2 goes for a more utilitarian look, though sporty. The rotating bezel in the Classic variant has notches as well compared to the smooth finish on the normal Gear S2.
Coming to specs, the Gear S2 has a 1.2-inch (360x360 pixels) Circular Super AMOLED display surrounded by the rotating bezel, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage to install apps, watch faces alongwith WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC support. Then there's IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.
Samsung has packed a 250mAh battery on the Gear S2 which should suffice 1 day of use and supports wireless charging. The Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic both are compatible with all smartphones running Android 4.4 KitKat with 1.5GB RAM or more. The wireless charger comes bundled within the box.
Moreover, you can choose from a wide-range of first-party straps for both the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic. With the Classic variant of the Gear S2 you can swap the in-box strap with any 20mm strap, leather or metal available in the market while you would need to purchase a separate adapter for the normal Gear S2, which too will be available in stores.
