Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the first phone with Gorilla Glass 5

Just last month Corning made Gorilla Glass 5 official, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the first smartphone to use it on that beautiful 5.7-inch Quad-HD dual-edge Super AMOLED display.

Gorilla Glass 5 is said to improve drop resistance of the phone which means no shattering when dropped from a height of about 1.6m (5.2 feet) or about shoulder height. We wouldn't want to test this out anytime soon, but the added protection is always welcome.
