Samsung Galaxy J3 comes to India with NFC, S Bike Mode, priced at Rs. 8990

Samsung today launched the Galaxy J3 in India with support for a unique S Bike mode alongwith NFC. This by far is the cheapest Samsung smartphone to have NFC alongwith possible support for Samsung Pay when it launches in India.

The Galaxy J3 is a budget device but gets some much wanted features from its mid-range brothers including better build quality and a large battery. Then there's the Super AMOLED display on board as well.

Coming to specs, the Galaxy J3 runs on a 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor with 1.5GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage running Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display which is both bright and has excellent viewing angles. Although we can't confirm any display protection, there seems to be an oleophobic coating on the display.

On the imaging front, Samsung has packed an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-camera. The rear camera also gets a bright flash. There is also an enhanced Ultra Data Saving mode on the Galaxy J3 which saves mobile data while music streaming, downloading email attachments and even when you are using WiFi.

Samsung has again gone with a leather like texture for the backcover, which does make for better grip and inside that shell you get a 2600 mAh battery which is removable. Moreover, the Galaxy J3 is a dual-SIM 4G LTE capable smartphone with a separate microSD card slot.

S Bike Mode

Samsung has added a unique mode on the Galaxy J3, its a mix of a Do Not Disturb mode with an answering machine. Using a NFC Tag that you get within the box, you can switch the phone to the 'S Bike' mode.

So, when you are riding your bike, your calls will get answered automatically by the inbuilt answering machine and you won't be bothered about the call. But if the caller things its urgent they can still go through and only if you are driving your bike under 10kmph, you would be able to answer it. Therefore, Samsung is focusing on security of bikers.

Moreover, there are rewards for using the bike mode as well, which will be available through FreeCharge.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 has been priced at Rs. 8990 and will come in black, gold and silver colors. The Galaxy J3 will be available online exclusively on Snapdeal.
