Samsung Galaxy Core Advance announced with larger 4.7-inch display

Samsung has unveiled a new phone in the mid-range segment, the Galaxy Core Advance, building up on the successful Galaxy Core and Galaxy Core Plus smartphones in the same range. Although the Galaxy Core Advance shares the same design as its colleagues in the Core series, it does offer a larger 4.7-inch WVGA display, that's 800 x 480 pixels resolution. Samsung also recently launched the Galaxy S Duos 2 with dual-core processor, you can watch our unboxing here.

The innards consist of a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal storage which is thankfully expandable using a micro SD card slot. The Galaxy Core Advance is quite svelte at just 9.7 mm and 145 grams in weight. The cameras remain the same with a 5MP primary and VGA front facing combination.

The Galaxy Core Advance runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which is already two version behind. But the phone does pack a sizable 2000 mAh battery. At present there is no word on pricing or availability but we can expect it to go on sale sometime in early January 2014.
