Samsung Unveils Exynos 2400 processor Featuring Xclipse 940 GPU

Samsung Electronics unveiled its state-of-the-art Exynos 2400 mobile processor during the Samsung System LSI Tech Day 2023 gathering, underscoring its dedication to pushing the boundaries of semiconductor technology. This event, hosted at Samsung Semiconductor's U.S. headquarters, drew prominent figures and partners from the industry, spotlighting Samsung's breakthroughs in analog and logic semiconductor technologies.

In his inaugural keynote, Yong-In Park, President and Head of System LSI Business at Samsung Electronics, outlined Samsung's aspiration to take the lead in hyper-intelligent and hyper-connected technologies.

He emphasized the Exynos 2400's standout features, which include the cutting-edge Xclipse 940 GPU, based on AMD RDNA 3 architecture, delivering outstanding ray tracing capabilities to offer immersive gaming experiences. This processor boasts a remarkable 1.7x increase in CPU performance and an impressive 14.7x boost in AI performance when compared to its predecessor.

According to previously reported information, the Exynos 2400 is anticipated to incorporate a 10-core CPU configuration. This setup comprises a high-performance Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.1GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.9GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores operating at 2.6GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores running at 1.8GHz.

Furthermore, there are speculations that the chip will support UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM, delivering a substantial bandwidth of 8.5Gbps. Additionally, the chip will come equipped with an integrated ISP (Image Signal Processor) capable of handling camera sensors with resolutions of up to 320MP and supporting video recording at resolutions of up to 8K at 60fps.

Zoom Anyplace technology -

Samsung also introduced Zoom Anyplace technology, which is driven by a 200-million-pixel image sensor. This innovation empowers users to capture 4x close-up shots of moving objects without any loss in image quality. Additionally, Samsung unveiled a new 5G modem, ISOCELL Vizion vision sensor, and a Smart Health processor.

Furthermore, Samsung showcased several other pioneering advancements, including the 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP2 image sensor, sophisticated driver assistance and autonomous driving camera solution (ISOCELL Auto 1H1), a quantum-dot OLED display driver IC, IoT security solutions, and a power management IC for wireless charging.
