REDMI Turbo 5 Series with massive 9000mAh battery to be launched on January 29, along with Buds 8 Pro and Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the REDMI Turbo 5 series will launch in China on January 29, after the teaser. The lineup will include the REDMI Turbo 5 Max, which will become the first smartphone to be powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset.

The REDMI Turbo 5 Max will also mark a first for Xiaomi by featuring a massive 9000mAh battery, supported by 100W fast charging with PPS and 27W reverse wired charging. Xiaomi’s smartphone chief, Lu Weibing, has already stated that the Turbo 5 Max will be the best option in the 2,500 yuan price segment in 2026, adding that its 9000mAh battery is capable of challenging even 10,000mAh battery phones.

In terms of design, the phone will feature elegantly rounded large corners, ultra-narrow bezels, a CNC-machined metal frame, and a flagship fiberglass back. It will also sport a metal racetrack-shaped camera deco, a dual-ring turbine light strip, and will be available in a new Sea Breeze Blue colour option.

Under the hood, the Dimensity 9500s is built on TSMC’s N3E process and packs a 1 × 3.73GHz Cortex-X925 core, 3 × 3.30GHz Cortex-X4 cores, and 4 × 2.40GHz Cortex-A720 cores, paired with a Mali Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU.

REDMI Buds 8 Pro -

Alongside the smartphones, Xiaomi will also launch the REDMI Buds 8 Pro. These will feature dual 6.7mm piezoelectric ceramic drivers along with an 11mm titanium-plated dynamic driver. They will support Xiaomi’s self-developed MIHC codec, LHDC-V5, and Hi-Res Wireless Audio.

The earbuds will offer up to 55dB, 5kHz ultra-wideband active noise cancellation with an average noise reduction depth of 28dB. They also include environmental awareness-based adaptive noise cancellation, which automatically adjusts the noise-cancelling level based on the surrounding environment.

REDMI Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition -

Xiaomi will also unveil a special REDMI Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition. This version will feature deep customization, including a classic Hogwarts school badge engraving, and will ship with a magic school-themed storage bag.
