REDMI Note 17 and REDMI Note 17 Pro launched India with up to 7-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4/6 Gen 5 SoC, up to 9000mAh battery

Xiaomi has launched its latest upper mid-range smartphone in the REDMI Note 17 Pro series, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G and the series’ first top-tier model, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G in India, following their global debut last month.

Designed with a focus on durability, long-lasting battery performance, and extended software support, both smartphones combine premium hardware with a range of features typically associated with higher-end flagship devices.

Durability and Display

Both Pro models feature Xiaomi’s REDMI Titan Structure, which combines high-strength motherboards, reinforced mid-frames, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The smartphones have also received TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality Certification and SGS-certified drop resistance of up to three meters on granite surfaces.

For protection against dust, water, and harsh environmental conditions, both devices carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. Their durability has been validated through a two-meter, 72-hour submersion test. Xiaomi has also included a dedicated Underwater Mode and Wet  Touch Technology 2.0 for improved usability around water.

On the front, both smartphones feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K display with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and an instantaneous touch sampling rate of up to 3,200Hz.

Hardware, Battery, and AI Features

The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, while both smartphones support up to 24GB of memory through dynamic RAM expansion. The Pro Max also comes with a long-term software support commitment, including six years of security updates and a guaranteed six-year like-new smoothness experience.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G packs a massive 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, while select regions receive a 9,210mAh battery. It supports 100W HyperCharge, 27W reverse charging, up to 400% audio volume boost, and Xiaomi HyperAI features.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, meanwhile, houses a 9,000mAh battery with support for 67W HyperCharge and 22.5W reverse charging.

Both smartphones offer Google Gemini, Circle to Search, 4K video recording, and AI-powered image editing features such as AI Glare Removal and AI Erase Pro.
