REDMI K80 Pro and Redmi K80 launched with 6.67-inch 2K 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite/8 Gen 3 SoC
Xiaomi has officially launched its latest smartphones in the K series, the REDMI K80 and K80 Pro at an event in China, as previously announced. Both models feature a 6.67-inch 2K AMOLED flat display, developed in collaboration with TCL, and utilizing new M9 luminescent material for a peak brightness of up to 3200 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The display supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, full brightness DC dimming, a 2560Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, and 12-bit colour with 68.7 billion shades. The K80 Pro also boasts an ultra-narrow bottom bezel, 21% slimmer than its predecessor. For the first time, both phones include ultrasonic fingerprint technology.
The REDMI K80 Pro runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, featuring the D1 gaming chip and an enhanced Circular cold pump cooling system with a vapour-liquid separation design for more efficient temperature control. It includes a large 5400mm² cooling area, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Additionally, it features the T1S signal enhancement chip, the upgraded Xiaomi Xingchen Communication with support for 19 5G frequency bands, ensuring a stronger signal.
The phone’s rear camera setup includes a 50MP 1/1.55″ Light Fusion 800 sensor with OIS, Xiaomi AISP 2.0, 13.2EV movie-level high dynamic range, a 32MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 2.5x telephoto camera with a 10cm macro option. The K80 Pro also offers IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Both models feature a glass back and metal frame. The K80 Pro is equipped with a 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Additionally, Xiaomi is releasing a special REDMI K80 Pro ‘Automobili Lamborghini SQUADRA CORSE’ edition, featuring a unique design, two color options, and a custom gift box. This version is available exclusively with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
The REDMI K80, on the other hand, runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, offers up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It features the same main camera with OIS but comes with an 8MP ultra-wide camera instead of a telephoto lens. The K80 has a larger 6550mAh silicon-carbon battery with 90W fast charging, though it lacks wireless charging capabilities.
