REDMI K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max launched with 6.56/6.9-inch 1.5K 185Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series / 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC

Xiaomi's REDMI has officially launched its latest flagship smartphones in the K series, the REDMI K100 Pro and REDMI K100 Pro Max at an event in China. The launch follows the company’s earlier confirmation of the event.

Core Performance and Processing

Both the REDMI K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipsets, respectively. They are paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for fast and responsive performance.

To sustain performance during demanding workloads, Xiaomi has equipped the phones with dedicated processing, connectivity, and thermal-management technologies.

• D2 Discrete Graphics Chip: Xiaomi’s proprietary D2 chip handles display rendering and frame-rate management to deliver smoother visuals.
• Surge T1+ Signal Enhancement Chip: The in-house chip improves signal reception and connectivity performance.
• Advanced Cooling: Both models feature a circulating ice-cooled pump cooling system. The K100 Pro offers a 5,150mm² cooling area, while the K100 Pro Max increases this to 6,300mm².
• Gaming Performance: The new-generation REDMI Rage Engine enables the Pro Max to run CrossFire: Mobile at over 185fps in ultra-high-definition mode. The phones support native 185fps gaming across more than 30 titles, along with simultaneous frame interpolation for supported high-FPS games.

Next-Generation Display and Luminescent Technology

The new REDMI series introduces M11 luminescent material, developed in collaboration with Tsinghua University using phosphorescently assisted thermally activated sensitized fluorescence (pTSF) technology. The technology improves green sub-pixel efficiency by 20% and overall display efficiency by 8%.

• Brightness and Color: The display reaches up to 10,000 nits peak brightness in a 1% window and 4,500 nits in a 25% window. It also offers 90% BT.2020 wide-color-gamut hardware coverage. Full end-to-end BT.2020 color management is expected to be enabled through an OTA update in mid-to-late November.
• Real RGB Super Pixel: The panel uses a Real RGB pixel arrangement, with dedicated red, green, and blue sub-pixels for each pixel.
• Eye Protection: Features include full-brightness DC dimming, Circularly Polarized Light 2.0 technology, and a minimum brightness of just 1 nit. The display has received an S++ visual dimension rating from the China Quality Certification Center, along with four TÜV Rheinland certifications.

Battery and Charging

The REDMI K100 Pro packs an 8,580mAh Jinshajiang battery with 26% silicon content and an energy density of 945Wh/L. The K100 Pro Max comes with an even larger 9,070mAh battery.

Both phones support 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, 27W wired reverse charging, and 22.5W wireless reverse charging. Charging performance is managed by Xiaomi’s Surge P3 fast-charging chip and Surge G2 battery-management chip, with support for bypass charging.

Speakers and Durability

The REDMI K100 Pro features dual 1115F speakers, while the K100 Pro Max upgrades to dual 1115D master speakers paired with a camera-deco-mounted 2016 tablet-grade subwoofer. The audio system has been tuned in collaboration with Bose.

An RGB floating light ring surrounds the subwoofer and provides visual effects for music playback and notifications.

For durability, both smartphones offer IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. They also feature ultrasonic fingerprint recognition for secure and convenient unlocking.
