Realme 16x 5G launched in India starting at Rs. 23,999 with 6.8-inch 144Hz display, 7000mAh battery

realme has officially launched its latest smartphone in its number series, the realme 16x 5G in India, following its earlier launch announcement.

Carrying the tagline “Stay Smooth. Stay Unstoppable,” the new smartphone is aimed at the entry-level to mid-range 5G segment, with a strong focus on battery endurance, smooth performance, and long-term reliability.

Hardware Performance and Cooling

The realme 16x 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor built using a 6nm process. The chipset features two Cortex-A76 performance cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores running at up to 2.0GHz. Graphics are handled by the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

For thermal management during demanding tasks and gaming, the smartphone features a large 5,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system. It is available with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, along with dynamic RAM expansion support, and up to 256GB of internal storage. Storage can also be expanded by up to 2TB using a microSD card.

Large Battery and Fast Charging

One of the major highlights of the realme 16x 5G is its 7,000mAh battery. realme promises up to six years of battery longevity along with a 60-month fluency guarantee, designed to maintain reliable battery health and system performance over extended usage.

• 45W Superfast Charging: The phone supports 45W fast charging for quicker battery top-ups.
• Bypass Charging: Bypass charging helps manage heat during extended usage and gaming sessions.
• Reverse Charging: The device supports 6.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to power compatible external devices.

Despite its large battery, the smartphone maintains a relatively slim profile, measuring 8.88mm in thickness and weighing 217g.

Display and Camera

The realme 16x 5G features a 6.8-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1570 × 720 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate, while peak brightness reaches up to 1,200 nits in High Brightness Mode. The display is protected by Panda Glass.

On the rear, the smartphone is equipped with a 50MP primary camera featuring an f/1.8 aperture and autofocus. The camera supports video recording at up to 1080p at 30fps. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and support for 1080p 30fps video recording.

Software and Durability

The realme 16x 5G runs Android 16 with realme UI 7.0. The software includes several AI-powered features such as Gemini Live, AI Assistant for Notes, and AI Eraser.

For added durability, the smartphone comes with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. It also uses realme’s ArmorShell structural design and has received MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification for improved resistance against shocks and drops.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an AI Pulse Light that can be customized for notifications.
