Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite 4nm SoC launched for PC with 12-core Oryon CPU, 5G support

Qualcomm has just unveiled its latest cutting-edge PC processor, the Snapdragon X Elite, during the Snapdragon Summit. This new processor represents a significant leap forward in high-end computing, delivering outstanding CPU power, advanced on-device AI functionalities, and remarkable energy efficiency, enabling extended battery life that lasts for multiple days.

The Snapdragon X Elite showcases a sophisticated 4nm System-on-a-Chip architecture, housing the impressive 12-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, equipped with Dual-Core Boost for ultra-responsive performance. According to Qualcomm, the Qryon CPU demonstrates superior Single-threaded CPU performance when compared to the Apple M2 Max and Intel I9-13980HX. Furthermore, at its peak performance, it consumes 30% less power than the Apple M2 Max and 70% less power than the Intel I9-13980HX.

The Snapdragon X Elite is claimed to provide up to 2x faster CPU performance compared to the i7-1360P and i7-1355U processors, matching their peak performance while utilizing 68% less power. Additionally, it offers 60% faster CPU performance than the i7-13800H, matching its peak performance at 65% less power.

The integrated Qualcomm Adreno GPU ensures stunning graphics for immersive entertainment while maintaining low power consumption, ensuring an extended battery life on a single charge. The Elite X GPU pledges 2x faster GPU performance compared to the i7-13800H, matching its peak performance at 74% less power. It also promises up to 80% faster GPU performance compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 7940Hs, matching its peak performance while utilizing 80% less power.
