Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G 6nm Mobile Platform launched; Expected to powered Realme “Quicksilver” phone, HONOR 50 series and more
Qualcomm has announced its new mid-range 5G mobile platform processor the Snapdragon 778G 5G at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2021. It is based on 6nm process technology with Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPU and has a new architecture that delivers up to 40% performance uplift and the Adreno 642L GPU is designed to give up to 40% faster graphics rendering compared to the previous generation, according to the company.
It has Qualcomm Spectra 570L triple ISP with 6th generation Qualcomm AI Engine, and the Qualcomm Hexagon 770 processor up to 12 TOPs AI performance, which is 2x improvement compared to its previous one. It has Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, including Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Qualcomm Game Quick Touch.

Realme has confirmed that will be introduced its latest smartphone code-named “Quicksilver” will be run on the Snapdragon 778G 5G, this could be one of the first manufacturers to use the processor. iQOO, Motorola, OPPO, and Xiaomi have also confirmed that they will introduce their phones with Snapdragon 778G 5G Mobile Platform in the future.
HONOR also announced that it will launch its upcoming HONOR 50 series with Snapdragon 778G that will be introduced soon. Last year’s HONOR 30 series are powered by the Kirin 985 and 990 SoCs.
