POCO X8 Power and POCO X8 launched in India Starting from Rs. 29,999 with 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz OLED Display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4/5 SoC, Up to 10,000mAh Battery

POCO has launched its latest smartphones in the X-series lineup, the POCO X8 and POCO X8 Power 5G in India, as they promised. The new smartphones focus on long battery life, durable construction, high-refresh-rate AMOLED displays, and reliable performance, with the X8 Power 5G positioned as the more powerful model in the series.

Display and Design

Both smartphones feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling, and up to 3,200Hz instantaneous touch sampling. The panels also support HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and high-frequency PWM dimming.

The displays can reach up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The POCO X8 additionally offers 12-bit color depth, DCI-P3 wide color gamut support, and TÜV Triple Eye Protection.

For durability, both models carry Five-Star Quality Certifications from SGS and TÜV and feature IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for protection against dust, water, and high-pressure or high-temperature water jets.

Performance and Software

The POCO X8 Power 5G is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform with a peak clock speed of 2.6GHz and an Adreno 812 GPU. It comes with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of storage, with dynamic memory expansion supporting up to 16GB of combined RAM.

The standard POCO X8 uses the 4nm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, featuring Kryo CPUs clocked at up to 2.4GHz. It is offered with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Both smartphones run Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3. POCO has committed to four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates for the devices.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is a major focus of the new X-series smartphones. The POCO X8 Power 5G packs a massive 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 16% silicon content. It supports 100W HyperCharge wired charging and reverse charging, making it suitable for users who prioritize extended usage and fast top-ups.

The battery is certified under TÜV SÜD's 5-star Battery Performance standards and is rated to retain at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, equivalent to around six years of typical daily use.

The POCO X8 features a slightly smaller 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery managed by the Xiaomi Surge G1 chip. It supports 67W Xiaomi HyperCharge fast wired charging, with the charger included in the box, along with 22.5W wired reverse charging.

Cameras

The POCO X8 Power 5G features a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor offering an f/1.5 aperture and OIS, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. It supports video recording at up to 4K resolution at 30fps. The 32MP front camera can also record 4K video.

Camera features include portrait processing, dual-video capture, AI Glare Removal, and AI Erase Pro.

The POCO X8 also has a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. It supports up to 1080p video recording. A 16MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.

The camera software on the POCO X8 includes Portrait, HDR, Live Moments, Ultra HD, Pro Mode, Dual Video, and AI Beautify modes.

Audio, Connectivity, and Other Features

Both smartphones feature stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and USB Type-C connectivity. The POCO X8 Power 5G includes a 400% volume boost mode, while the POCO X8 offers a 300% volume boost mode.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C 2.0.
