OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro launched with 6.7-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED curved display, Dimensity 8250/9200+ Star Edition SoC
OPPO has launched its latest smartphones in the Reno12 series, the OPPO Reno12, and Reno12 Pro at an event in China, as previously promised. Both models boast a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED curved screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1200 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The OPPO Reno12 is the first device to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 SoC, also known as the Dimensity 8200 Star Speed Edition. This Octa-Core SoC, manufactured using TSMC's 4nm process, includes one Arm Cortex-A78 prime core running at up to 3.1 GHz, three Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores at 3.0 GHz, four Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz, and a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU, similar to the Dimensity 8200.
The Reno12 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition. Both chipsets incorporate the upgraded MediaTek Star Speed Engine technology to maximize end-to-end gaming performance.
The OPPO Reno12 series features a diamond architecture with a middle frame developed through OPPO's own research and development efforts. This frame is made from the strongest die-cast aluminum alloy in the industry, offering compressive strength significantly higher than the industry standard, according to OPPO. The series is IP65-rated for dust and water resistance and supports touch functionality in the rain.
Both phones have a 50MP primary rear camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP autofocus front camera. They are powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging.
