OPPO Reno11 Series to be launched in India Soon with 6.7-inch up to 1.5K 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1/Dimensity 8200 SoC
OPPO has commenced the promotion of the features of the upcoming Reno11 Series, following its debut in China, After hinting at its India launch. However, there are alterations in certain specifications tailored for the Indian market. The company has announced the introduction of its proprietary color calculation technology—the Hypertone Imaging Engine.
Hypertone Imaging Engine -
The Hypertone Imaging Engine utilizes deep pixel fusion to process lossless photos within the RAW domain. Consequently, image details are conserved, featuring accurate colors and an extended dynamic range that achieves a harmonious balance between light and shadows, according to the company. Moreover, AI Denoise and AI Demosaic algorithms have been implemented to enhance clarity in portrait images, especially in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.
OPPO's Tone Mapping Control algorithm has been fine-tuned to debug and optimize lighting, coloring, and texture, ensuring precise outcomes for Indian skin tones in portrait photography. These algorithms have been developed with input from an in-house expert team and refined through collaboration with external professionals, including the renowned Indian celebrity wedding photographer Joseph Radhik, as mentioned by OPPO. The Face Curve algorithm from OPPO optimizes stereoscopic light and shade effects on human faces, imparting a narrative and environmental quality to portraits.
The upgraded processing algorithm from OPPO capitalizes on the 50MP 1/1.56″ Sony IMX890 main camera. The integration of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and all-pixel omnidirectional PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) assures stability and clarity by eliminating motion blurs in dynamic photos, including those capturing sports, children, and even pets.
Portrait Photography -
The Portrait Mode available on both the rear and front cameras of the Reno11 Series allows users to customize the aperture settings from F1.4 to F16, providing control over background bokeh and bokeh flare. This aperture adjustment can also be made during post-processing. Supporting these portrait cameras are the 32MP IMX709 RGBW (Red, Green, Blue, White) camera sensors, a collaborative effort between OPPO and Sony.
Furthermore, the 32MP IMX709 rear camera includes a 2x telephoto lens with a 47mm focal length, delivering visually pleasing portraits with proportional framing.
OPPO's Portrait AI distinguishes between skin blemishes and beauty spots, removing the former while preserving the latter. The technology considers skin tone, age, and the subject's gender before applying beautification filters and skin smoothing, according to OPPO.
The Reno11 Series is equipped with an 8MP 112° ultra-wide-angle Sony IMX355 camera featuring a 1/4-inch sensor. The series offers various shooting modes such as Night, Pano, Slo-mo, Dual-view video, and Text scanner. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K videos at 30fps, and the rear camera features an ultra-steady mode for 1080p videos at 60fps.
Additionally, the Reno11 Series introduces a fully functional Pro mode, allowing users to adjust settings like ISO, shutter speed, exposure value, focus, and white balance. The device supports screen overlays, including a 3×3 grid, diagonal guides, and Golden Spiral guides, activated from Camera Settings to assist in capturing perfectly framed snapshots with aesthetically pleasing compositions.
Performance and 10-bit display -
The Reno11 Pro is equipped with a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC and incorporates Imagiq 785 camera technology, featuring a 14-bit HDR-ISP that supports HDR video capture. It also integrates OPPO's in-house technologies to enhance subject-focus tracking.
For an immersive gaming experience, the Arm Mali-G610 graphics engine ensures high-frame-rate gameplay. MediaTek's Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 dynamically adjusts the display refresh rate—ranging from 60, 90, to 120Hz—based on the detected frame rate of the game, ensuring a seamless viewing experience.
The Reno11 Series introduces 10-bit colors, elevating the output to 1.07 billion colors for a more uniform, lifelike, and subtle color transition whether viewing videos or images on the screen. The series also offers HDR brightness of up to 950 nits.
In contrast, the Reno11 is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, featuring an Arm Mali-G68 GPU optimized to deliver smooth everyday gaming experiences.
Fast-charging and battery -
The Reno11 Pro comes with a 4600mAh battery and 80W SuperVOOC technology, enabling a full 100% charge in just 28 minutes. Conversely, the Reno11 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery and supports 67W SuperVOOC charging, accomplishing a complete charge in 45 minutes.
Both devices incorporate OPPO's Battery Health Engine (BHE) technology, enhancing battery life and sustainability. The focus on rapid charging and convenient short-time charging sessions supports extended usage scenarios, allowing users to swiftly replenish their devices, as highlighted by the company.
OPPO has officially announced the upcoming ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 for the phone. Additionally, the company is running a contest on its website, offering participants a chance to win the all-new OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G, OPPO Enco Buds2, Coupons, and Points. The contest concludes on January 12th, suggesting a potential launch on the same date.
