OPPO Gaming Smartphone patent surfaces online and expected under-display camera technology

OPPO is working on its first gaming smartphone, which image has surfaced at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The company filed its patent on May 28th, and it has been approved on July 2nd. The image doesn’t show any notch on the screen for the front camera but might feature under-display camera technology. It also shows the bezel-less screen in the patent images, but might not resemble the final product. We can expect a high-refresh-rate OLED display.

Other images show a power button on the right and volume rockers on the left. It will have a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom along with a bottom-ported loudspeaker, but we can expect double up as a secondary speaker.

The back panel might have LED lights with an option to be controlled using the phone as similar to the ROG phones. The camera design and position look similar to other Reno series phones, but it is not clear when will be introduced the phone. OPPO should compete with other gaming phone series like ASUS ROG, Lenovo Legion, nubia RedMagic and others brands.
