OnePlus One goes official with magnesium build, 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801, 3 GB RAM, 13 MP camera for just $299

Here'e the Nexus killer everyone was looking for. OnePlus One has just gone official with a 5.5-inch 1080p, 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801, 3 GB RAM running CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. There's a 13 MP primary camera with Sony IMX214 stacked sensor which uses a 6-element lens and has a f/2.0 aperture size, dual LED flash and can record 4K UltraHD videos. There's a 5 MP front-facing f/2.0 camera as well for the best selfies ever.

The phone is build using a magnesium alloy and therefore just weighs 162 grams even with that large 5.5-inch display. Its 8.9 mm thick with tapered edges which come down to just 4.6mm making the device remarkably thin. Considering there's a 3100 mAh battery tucked in there as well, the device is pretty thin. There's 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM onboard, the fastest available out there. It comes with 4G LTE and 3G support as well.

There's CyanogenMod's SMS encryption onboard as well. The OnePlus One will also come with swappable back-panels in wooden, denim and even Kevlar finishes. The OnePlus One has been priced at $299 (about Rs. 18,300) for the Silk White 16 GB variant and the SandStone Black 64 GB variant costs $349 (about Rs. 21,350). The company will first launch it in these 16 regions, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the United States.
