OnePlus N6 launched in India Starting at Rs. 22,999 with 6.8-inch 120Hz display, Dimensity 6360 Apex SoC, 8000mAh battery
OnePlus has launched its new N series lineup, the OnePlus N6 in India, marking the smartphone's global debut as previously announced. Entering the competitive sub-Rs. 25,000 smartphone segment, the device carries the tagline "Always On. Always Smooth" and is designed for users looking for extended battery life, dependable daily performance, and long-term software support without stretching their budget.
Battery
The OnePlus N6 is powered by a massive 8,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest in its category. According to the company, the battery is capable of delivering up to three days of usage on a single charge. To complement the high-capacity battery, OnePlus has introduced several intelligent charging and power management features.
- 45W SuperVOOC fast charging enables quicker top-ups and reduced charging time.
- Bypass Charging delivers power directly to the phone during gaming or streaming, reducing battery heat and maintaining stable performance.
- 5W reverse wired charging allows the device to charge compatible accessories and other smartphones.
- The battery is engineered to withstand up to 1,600 complete charge cycles while retaining more than 80% of its original capacity after approximately seven years of regular use.
- Super Power Saving Mode keeps essential functions such as calling, navigation, and standby active even when the battery level drops to 5% or 1%.
Display and Viewing Experience
The smartphone features a 6.8-inch HD display designed for multimedia consumption. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations, while High Brightness Mode (HBM) reaches up to 1,200 nits, improving screen visibility under bright outdoor lighting conditions.
Performance and Software
The OnePlus N6 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 MAX processor and incorporates a large 5,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system for improved thermal management during intensive workloads. OnePlus claims the device achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 615,800. The company has also confirmed two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.
ArmorShell Protection and Military-Grade Durability
Designed for enhanced durability, the OnePlus N6 meets MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification standards. The smartphone has been tested to withstand temperatures ranging from -60°C to 65°C, while also enduring harsh conditions including rain, ice, freezing storms, sand, dust, and salt corrosion. It has additionally been tested to survive up to 25 consecutive drops onto hard surfaces.
The device is reinforced by the ArmorShell Protection system, which combines strengthened corners, airbag-style impact cushioning, reinforced glass, and a durable aluminum frame to improve structural integrity.
In addition, the OnePlus N6 carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, offering protection against everyday splashes and dusty environments. The upgraded acoustic chamber also enables a 400% Ultra Volume mode for louder and clearer audio output.
AI-Enhanced Camera System
The smartphone is equipped with a 50MP primary rear camera featuring an f/1.8 aperture, alongside an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Video recording features include 1080p recording at 60fps, 720p slow-motion recording at 120fps, and Dual-View Video, which records simultaneously using both the front and rear cameras.
OnePlus has also integrated several AI-powered photography tools to improve the overall camera experience.
- AI Eraser removes unwanted people and objects from photos, with support for up to 400 edits per day.
- AI Perfect Shot automatically captures multiple frames and selects the best image where subjects' eyes remain open.
- AI Unblur and Reflection Eraser sharpen moving subjects while removing unwanted reflections from glass and glossy surfaces.
- AI Portrait Glow and Detail Boost enhance portraits in low-light conditions and improve image detail, especially when cropping.
