OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro launched with 6.78-inch 185Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series / 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, 9000mAh battery

OnePlus has officially launched its latest performance-focused smartphones in the Ace 7 series, the OnePlus Ace 7 and OnePlus Ace 7 Pro in China. The launch follows the company's earlier announcement of the Ace 7 Pro, which confirmed its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and integrated active cooling fan.

Both smartphones are designed with high-refresh-rate flat displays, large-capacity batteries, and dedicated active cooling systems, targeting users who demand sustained performance, particularly during intensive gaming sessions.

Core Specifications and Key Differences

The main differences between the OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro lie in their processors and rear camera configurations.

  • Processing Platform: The standard OnePlus Ace 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series Mobile Platform, while the Ace 7 Pro features the full-performance Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
  • Camera Capabilities: Both smartphones feature a 200MP primary camera enhanced with OPPO's flagship imaging algorithms. However, the Ace 7 Pro adds a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, enabling improved portrait photography and long-distance shots. The standard Ace 7 does not include a dedicated telephoto camera.

Beyond these differences, both devices share most of their hardware specifications, including their displays, active cooling systems, battery capacities, charging capabilities, ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, and durability certifications.

Display and Visual Performance

The OnePlus Ace 7 series features a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO flat display based on the X4 luminescent material, jointly developed by OnePlus and BOE.

  • Refresh Rates: The display supports a standard global refresh rate of 165Hz for everyday navigation and system interactions, with the capability to reach 185Hz in supported games.
  • Eye Protection and Certification: It incorporates hardware-level low blue light technology and 3840Hz ultra-high-frequency PWM dimming to reduce screen flicker in dimly lit environments. The display also carries eye-protection certification and supports certified Hi-Res audio output integration.

Cooling System and Gaming Features

For improved thermal management during extended gaming sessions, OnePlus has equipped the series with its dual-channel Ice River active air-cooling system. It uses a dual-exhaust configuration, directing one airflow channel across the main chipset while the other circulates air along the inner surface of the rear panel.

According to the company, this cooling architecture can reduce peak SoC temperatures by up to 10°C during one hour of continuous gameplay.

OnePlus has also shared internal gaming benchmark results demonstrating stable performance under demanding conditions:

  • In Peacekeeper Elite running at 185fps, the smartphone achieved an average frame rate of 184.9fps, with temperatures peaking at 38.7°C.
  • In Delta Force, it maintained an average frame rate of 184.9fps, while the maximum temperature reached 40.2°C.

The cooling system is complemented by dedicated gaming co-processors designed to improve touch responsiveness, motion detection, network stability, and display performance.

  • T3 Touch Chip: Reduces directional wheel swipe latency by 80% and trigger and touch latency by 43%.
  • 800Hz Gyroscope: Supports motion-sensing sampling rates of up to 800Hz, improving aiming accuracy by 65% and reducing calibration drift by 54%.
  • G3 Network Chip: Prioritizes network packets to help minimize latency during online gaming.
  • P4 Display Chip: Dynamically manages power consumption and frame generation to maintain stable performance at high refresh rates.
  • Audio and Haptics: The Ace 7 Pro additionally features symmetrical dual stereo speakers and an X-axis linear vibration motor.

Camera System

Both smartphones feature a 200MP primary camera with wide-format imaging capabilities and four preset portrait focal lengths. The OnePlus Ace 7 Pro further expands the camera setup with a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor offering 3.5x optical zoom.

For video recording, the Pro variant supports 4K video capture at up to 120fps and 8K recording at 30fps. It also offers 4K ultra-high-definition live photo recording and a dedicated flat Log color profile, providing greater flexibility for post-production and professional color grading.

Battery, Design, and Software

The OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro pack a 9000mAh Glacier Battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC wired fast charging. Both models also support power-bypass technology, which allows the smartphone to draw power directly from the charger during demanding workloads instead of routing it through the battery. This helps minimize heat generation and reduce long-term battery wear.

  • Build and Materials: Both smartphones feature metal middle frames. The Ace 7 Pro comes with a composite glass rear panel featuring 3D-etched frosted textures to minimize fingerprint marks. The standard Ace 7, meanwhile, sports a dual-gradient design with AG sandblasted finishing and a red metallic appearance.
  • Biometrics and Durability: Both models are equipped with 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors and offer IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for protection against dust and water, including high-pressure water exposure.
  • Software: The devices run ColorOS 17 out of the box, featuring system-wide 165Hz animations, built-in AI photography enhancements, and context-aware note-taking capabilities.
