OnePlus 5 arrives in India starting at Rs. 32,999

After its global launch, the OnePlus 5 was finally unveiled in India starting at Rs. 32,999. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display same as the OnePlus 3T, running on the Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor with a choice or 6GB RAM with 64GB non-expandable internal storage or 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage.

The OnePlus 5 runs the latest Android 7.1.1 build with Oxygen OS on top which adds a few new features including a black and white mode for the display, perfect for reading.

The OnePlus 3/3T didn't have an excellent camera, but OnePlus is trying to change that with the OnePlus 5. It features a dual camera setup with a 16MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture as well as a second 20MP camera with f/2.6 aperture. The second lens enables lossless 2x optical zoom along with some cool bokeh effects, including a Portrait mode similar to the iPhone 7 Plus.

The phone has a solid anodized aluminum build which is just 7.25mm thin and still manages to pack in a 3300 mAh battery. It also supports Dash Charge, which can charge the phone for one full day's worth of use in just 30 minutes. This time around the OnePlus 5 also has a fingerprint sensor which is covered in ceramic for more durability, the camera too is protected by sapphire glass.
