OnePlus 3/3T get Oxygen OS 4.1.6 update, improves stability, adds may security patch

OnePlus is keeping its word on regular updates for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the phones have now been updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The company has now started rolling out Oxygen OS 4.1.6 update to both smartphones, it is now available over-the-air (OTA).

There are a number of changes under the hood, including several optimizations.

The new version brings system level push notifications that will keep you updated on any news from the company or about any new product updates.

Some carrier specific network settings have been updated to possibly improve connectivity. The update also brings May security patch to the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Earlier they were running on the March security patch.

The no-internet on WiFi connection icon has been modified as well. There were some issues with storage detection on third party file managers, that seems to have been fixed as well along with Android Auto connectivity issues. Some Jio 4G users too had issues with VoLTE connectivity, this update resolves those as well.

Apart from bug fixes, you also get Expanded screenshot, optimizations to the proximity sensor and battery-life. The 87MB OTA update is now rolling out and should be available to all devices within the next couple of weeks.
