Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) launched in India starting from Rs.7,999 with 11mm dynamic driver, 45dB ANC
Nothing has just unveiled the Ear and Ear (a), its latest additions to the TWS earbuds lineup, during its community update event held in Japan. Serving as the successor to last year's Ear (2), the Ear boasts new 11mm drivers with an enhanced stack layout, resulting in a 110% increase in vibration amplitude, thus delivering richer bass.
Furthermore, the Ear introduces a new ceramic diaphragm, featuring two vents for improved airflow and reduced distortion, alongside an upgraded mic design for enhanced wind resistance. With an improved voice algorithm, it promises a 60% reduction in interference compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the Ear now supports LDAC codec alongside LHDC.
Enhanced battery performance is another highlight, with the Ear offering a 25% improvement in battery life, providing a total of 40.5 hours of playback with the case and up to 8.5 hours of standalone playback without ANC. Fast charging ensures up to 10 hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charging.
On the other hand, Ear (a) debuts with a fresh design, sporting a vibrant Yellow color option and utilizing 11mm drivers, LDAC support, and 45dB ANC. However, it employs a PMI + TPU diaphragm and lacks LHDC compatibility. Despite this, it offers an impressive battery life of up to 42.5 hours with the case and up to 9.5 hours of standalone playback, marking the highest endurance among Nothing's TWS earbuds. While it doesn't support wireless charging, it compensates with 10 hours of playback with a mere 10-minute charge.
Both earbuds feature ChatGPT integration, accessible via the Nothing X app, enabling voice access to the Ear and Ear (a) when connected to a smartphone. This feature is slated to roll out to Ear (1), Ear (2), Ear (stick), and CMF audio products through an update scheduled for June.
