Winners of Nestle Android KitKat contest to get the new 2013 Nexus 7 after all.
Just a few days back we told you that winners of the Nestle Android KitKat contest in India got the old Nexus 7 instead of the new one as promised. Nestle previously said that they gave the old Nexus 7 in lieu of 2013 nexus 7 as at the start of the contest the new one wasn't launched in India. This lead to a huge hue and cry over Twitter and Facebook as according to promotional material as well as Nestle India's own campaign they were indeed supposed to get the "all new Nexus 7".
Now Nestle India has backtracked and finally the winner of the 1000 Nexus 7's in India will be getting the new one. The company will replace the previously sent Nexus 7. Here's the official statement from Nestle India:
"We are delighted to announce that winners of ‘Android Kit Kat promotion’ will receive the new 2013 Nexus 7 tablet. If you have received an earlier version of the device, we will contact you separately to get it replaced. The delivery schedule for the new dispatches as well as the procedure to be followed for replacement will be communicated shortly."-Nestle
The new Nexus 7 (2013) is way faster that the previous gen device which was powered with a Tegra 3 SoC while the new one is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with Adreno 330 GPU and a higher resolution 1920 x 1200 pixels display.
